It is very tough to remove rust from bathtubs or sinks especially if you have alkaline in water. These alkaline deposits from water make your bathtub look awful.
You do not have much to do to stop the spots in the bathtub or sink getting nasty stains from water. All you can do is to take proper care to remove rusts and those unwanted spots from your bathtub.
Some people try car wax in the wall, but it can not be a solution to the problem. They are too sticky and the surround does not look as it is and you do not feel comfortable. As fiberglass or glass is porous, those car wax wet inside the pores and stops the alkaline deposits from entering inside. However, if you use car wax, it does not look as shiny as it is and you can not use it everywhere.
Some people would try everything they have at home and they believe that the home prefabricated cleaners are the best to properly clean the rust. Some would say that baking soda is the best to remove stains – but just think about how much you would have to rub the tub to clean it up. And often you would find some soda leftover in some corner that would eventually gather more mass around it like soap scum. Now you would also need to buy some soap scum remover that may not be good enough for your tubs health.
Or be prepared to listen to something like this – create a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and cream of Tatar and use it as a cleaner. You would need a brush to scrub the bathtub with this mixture. Do you really think that Hydrogen Peroxide is good for your tube?
Some people would even suggest you to clean and wipe down the bathtub and shower regularly so that it does not gather rust around it. But we know it is not doable to clean them up regularly as we are too busy in our regular schedule to do that.
And that’s not all; you would even find some people using acid to clean these stains or rusts in bathtub or shower. What can be worst than this! Acid does not simply make the tub discolored; it also drastically reduces longevity irrespective of its mildness. The appliances loose their strength to sustain regular wear and tear. To add to this, acid is too bad for your health though the tub may look clean.
The problem becomes major when you want to clean rust from mixed material. For example what would you do to remove rust from some expansive car parts that have rubber coating in some parts?
There is no alternative to using biodegradable organic rust cleaner. But that is not all. You must look closely to find out if the cleaner is non-carcinogenic too. Carcinogenic substances are often prevalent in many cleaners and they are well known for their radioactivity. They may cause deadly disease like cancer.
Organic rust remover is good not simply because it cleans the products well; they are also good as they do not harm the longevity of the product too. There are some all purpose rust cleaners in the market that can actually remove rust from any surface. As they are biodegradable and organic, you do not need to worry about any alteration in the surface or rushes in your skin.
Organic rust cleaner (non-carcinogenic) is always better than your home prefabricated cleaners. Try them once to believe in their cleaning efficiency
